Greetings from the Mission Field!

After 21 days, 4 cities, 6 different beds, and 63 hours of land and air travel, I’m ready for a rest. I thank God for his provision of stamina throughout this extended season of travel.

The first quarter of 2023 has been filled with life-changing ministry, relationship building, and the strengthening of SOMA International. In February, SOMA led a mission to Aweil, South Sudan, described in the articles below. During the second week of April, I traveled to Rwanda to attend GAFCON, participate in the SOMA International board meeting, and serve three days on a SOMA International mission to the Shyogwe Diocese.

We’re very grateful for your prayers while at GAFCON. As stated in the Kigali Commitment released at the conclusion of GAFCON IV, the fabric of the Anglican Communion has been torn. To be sure, it’s a time of mourning for the Church. But the encouraging outcome of GAFCON was the strengthening of solidarity that God’s Word is the final authority in Christ’s one holy, catholic and apostolic church. I’ve just returned from a mission to Northwest Ankole Diocese (Uganda), a brand-new diocese in the Church of Uganda. Stay tuned for news of this and our Rwandan mission in next month’s e-News.

Love in Christ,

Kyle
National Director
